Unique SANYO installations and applications.

Offgrid Solar (PDF, PDF)

Offgrid Solar is an alternative energy consulting, design and solar installation company located in the Sierra Mountains near Yosemite
national Park outside of Mariposa Ca. Offgrid solar energy utilizes only self generated power without any help from the electrical companies, with the major benefits being freedom from electric bills and the ability to live outside of designated urban areas. Owner Dave Angelini, was
experimenting with the efficiencies of his own rural residential home’s solar installation and determined that by integrating SANYO’s mini split HVAC system, a home owner could vary the unit’s power consumption at different times of the day based on temperature differential and fan speed. Offgrid solar systems are extremely sensitive to high power consuming applicances because they rely on battery power when not at peak sunlight hours. Usage of higher watt devices is best limited to times with the most solar energy available.

Purdue University (PDF, PDF)

Almost 50 years since its last remodel in 1960, the 21,500 sq. foot tudor mansion, home to the Delta Tau Delta, fraternity was due for a much needed makeover. Originally constructed in 1929, the four floors of living space at 10 different elevation levels was just part of the complexity of the project. “The puzzle was figuring out what would best exceed the minimum standards of comfort at all the different levels and living areas, while still driving down long-term energy costs and working around other necessary renovations like bringing the sprinkler and fire codes up-to-date,” explained Michael Witteveen, President and LEED Accredited Professional of Tecton Construction Management. Level Solutions, a local HVAC distributor, was contacted to evaluate the project scope and application and recommended the Sanyo ECO-i™ system, firmly believing it was best suited for the installation and a better value than anything else on the market. The heart of the system lies in the outdoor unit which has an inverter controlled compressor, micro-processor controls and a variable speed air cooled condenser. The outdoor unit is connected to a host of terminal (fan-coil) indoor units located throughout the building providing optimal comfort and control.
